How to Provision the Auto Dialer ATA



Auto Dialer Setup: Phone.com ATA Provisioning

This guide shows you how to configure a Phone.com ATA so it can register to the phone.com auto dialer service. Follow the setup sequence carefully to ensure a successful connection.


Step 1: Access the ATA Web Interface

You must log into the device to configure it.

  1. Connect an analog phone to the PHONE port on the ATA

  2. Press *** to open the voice menu

  3. Press 02 to hear the IP address spoken out loud

  4. Enter that IP address into your browser

Login credentials:

  • Username: admin

  • Password: admin (all lowercase)

If credentials do not work:

  • Perform a factory reset

  • If still locked, the customer must contact the previous provider to unlock the device


Step 2: Configure Auto Provisioning

  1. Navigate to the Advanced Settings tab

  2. In Config Server Path enter:

grandstream.prov.phone.com

  1. At the bottom of the page, follow this sequence:

    • Click Update

    • Click Apply

    • Click Reboot

The device must restart to load provisioning settings.


Step 3: Enter SIP Credentials

After the reboot, log back in.

  1. Go to the FXS Port tab

  2. Set SIP servers:

    • Primary SIP Server: sipphone.com

    • Failover SIP Server: sipphone.com

  3. Enter:

    • SIP User ID

    • Authenticate ID

    • Authenticate Password

      (found in the extension settings in the phone.com account)

  4. Set the Name field to the extension number


Step 4: Set Audio Codec Preferences

Scroll to Preferred Vocoder settings:

Choices 3–8PCMU

These values ensure best voice quality for the client.


Step 5: Save and Reboot

Scroll down and complete the required save sequence again:

  1. Update

  2. Apply

  3. Reboot

When the device comes back online, the ATA should be registered and ready to make and receive calls.


Setup Complete

Your client’s auto dialer is now fully active. If any issues arise, confirm provisioning and SIP values, then reboot again.
